Filming Day 2
So on the 1st November, Jody and I completed our second day of filming using the green screen. Due to the fact the majority of our footage was filmed abroad on a non-scheduled basis, we planned days to perform our green screen practice as it had to be up to standard. As we had already completed our first days filming, we was already aware of the equipment and crew needed to film specifically.
By this point we had filmed the first half of our music video. We needed to gain the second half of our green screen production and also touch up on footage which may not of been up to standard after the first days filming. The equipment we used was our iPhone 7 camera horizontally for the filming, the green screen with lighting for our background and we used a computer to play the song on which we then could lip sync in time with.
On the first day filming we filmed in our free period where other media students was in the room socialising too. This became more nerve-racking and anxious for me (the main artist) to dance like a crazy lunatic in front of 20 other students. This made it harder to get the desired footage we wanted as we want to portray a happy and free look to our audience but the nerves made our artist seem slightly up tight which was noticeable in our first load of footage. From this scenario we then decided to film our second day footage in our lunch hour when there was no other students in the room apart from Jody and I and then two of our friends. We put the music on and began to dance together, this lightened the mood and made me feel more at ease and confident when it come to filming. Jody filmed me whilst I stood in front of the green screen and I had my two other friends dancing and singing along in front of me, as I said this made me feel much more relaxed and confident so I portrayed the look which we wanted for our artist.
When we then airdropped our footage onto the mac books at school and reviewed the latest footage. The confidence shined through and the video's come out just as we imaged. I showed confidence, elegance and freedom in my body language and facial expressions. We managed to film the whole song twice using two different looks, we also gained some extra footage of me laughing and playing around which we hoped to use in certain points of our music video too.
Jody and I have now completed both our 2 days of filming and are in the process of structuring our music video together and editing it. If we feel that we need any extra footage, we will pursue an extra third day of filming however we have followed our filming schedule so we have planned that we have all the footage we need for our music video.
